1.  The commuter train is called the Coaster:  

 

Everyone will be traveling from Zone 1 to Zone 3 (please note for ticket purchase). There is a bus outside the terminal that will take you to the Santa Fe train station. Terminal 1 is still under construction, but may be open by the end of October. Ask the terminal information booth for directions on where to catch the train. You must have the exact fare.

The Coaster will take you to the Carlsbad train station located in Carlsbad Village. The village is a fun place to walk, eat, and explore, and it is on the coast, a block from the water.

Route & Tickets: All travelers will ride from Zone 1 to Zone 3 (important when purchasing tickets).

From the Airport:
o A city bus outside the airport terminal runs to the Santa Fe Depot train station.
o Ask the information booth inside the terminal for directions to the bus stop.

Payment: you must have exact fare or download the PRONTO app to pay electronically.
o Bus schedules can be checked with the MTS EZ Access app.
 Arrival in Carlsbad:
o The train stops at Carlsbad Village Station, located in the center of Carlsbad.
o The Village is a lively area with shops, restaurants, and is just one block from the
beach.

 

Adult One-Way: $6.50

2.  Amtrak Pacific Surfliner is another train that will take you to the Oceanside terminal (one station past Carlsbad). You can take an Uber/Lyft to Carlsbad. The travel costs are slightly higher than the Coaster's fares.

Amtrak also travels along the coast and stops at the Oceanside Transit Center (one
station past Carlsbad).

•  From Oceanside, you can take an Uber or Lyft to Carlsbad.

•  Ticket prices are slightly higher than Coaster fares.

​

It is an easy walk to the event hotel, or the house. If traveling to the Redwood house, there is a city bus that you can catch at the Carlsbad train station to the Tamarack drop-off, which is four houses away (but you will need to cross the street at the light).

 

3. Ride Share: Uber and Lyft offer transportation from the San Diego airport to Carlsbad. The costs can range from $40 to $100, depending on the time. ​

•  Convenient, direct transportation is available from San Diego International Airport to Carlsbad.

4. The best arrival airport is San Diego or Palomar Regional in Carlsbad.

Getting to Event Locations from Carlsbad Village Station
 Tamarack Resort (3200 Carlsbad Blvd) & House 2 (3416 Garfield Street):

o Within easy walking distance from the station.
 House 1 (150 Redwood Ave)

o Option 1: Take the city bus from Carlsbad station to the Tamarack stop.
 Make sure to board the bus heading toward Tamarack and not toward
Oceanside.

• You will need to cross the street at the traffic light after getting off.

Redwood is one street north of Tamarack.
